I was created by God, to love Him and all others. Yes, He charged us to rule over the earth and the animals, but that doesn’t give us the right to toss God aside and put ourselves first. We are not masters. Neither our actions of dominance or through being prideful should be put ourselves above God.

God meant for us to live loving, gentle, obedient lives- honoring Him, praising Him for the blessings. Why then do we fight our creator? Are we all spoiled brats rebelling against our Father? What really are we fighting for? Authority to do what we want?? We have it! Free will was given to all.

So what temporary rush are you looking for?

Addiction- is consistent dependency really something we want?

Adultery- that only hurts you and everyone one you love- and your also taking another sole down with you? Ever heard of a soul- tie?

Disrespecting others- what is gained from hurting others?

Cheating..gambling..greed..envy..lust..curse..wants..cars..money..house..material things..worldly desires..the world? This list can go on, but you fill in the blank. What are you fighting against God to gain?

For a long time, I was fighting to get on top. I wanted the next ’best thing’ which included money, greed, and envy turning into lusting after the world. Yea, most of the time I was given everything I wanted. But it was never enough.

Every motivation I had was throwing me down a path I never thought I would be on. And worse, my sin was so great that I didn’t know who I saw in the mirror. This was all before I was saved.

Acts 5:39 ”but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them. You may even be found fighting against God.” Context to this verse, this was said by a Pharisee named Gamaliel speaking to the men of Israel when Peter and some of his guys were caught preaching. As a result Peter and them were only beaten and released with the warning to never preach Jesus’s name again. (Which we all know how that turned out).

I believe that God either makes things happen or allows it to happen. He allowed me to gain more and more things as I sinned my way to the ’best’. But when He chose me, He made that happen!!

In closing, guess I’m asking why do people continue to chose the world over the creator? What do you believe?
