Back in 2023, Holy Spirit dropped a bombshell on me. I wasn’t sure if it was a real command or if indigestion got in the way. His request was for me to start a podcast. The idea behind it was that he would lead and all I had to do was interview, edit and post the videos.

Sadly, I didn’t think I was qualified to do such a bold thing for the kingdom. It was written into a journal and lost in memory.

Fast forward three years, the idea resurfaced and I took the plunge. Faithfully Southern podcast was born. I started by procrastinating on the details; watching countless hours of YouTube videos covering all the how-to’s and learning about equipment. I found myself in uncharted waters! I knew I could trust God, but it was my own weaknesses that I had to overcome.

I wasted another 6 months on tying up loose ends before the first video was recorded.

Then the second. And then the third. Faithfully southern was officially accessible through YouTube platform.

I had somehow completed the impossible task that Holy Spirit had put in front of me. I say impossible because it didn’t seem like it was something that I could do on my own. Holy Spirit let the first series by asking questions of the guest and pointing out the particular guest that they wanted on the show.

As of today, I have successfully recorded nine videos. Completed two series for faithfully southern podcast. And I can’t believe the incredible feedback that I’ve gotten. How many shares have gone out and how many subscribers to my channel that I never thought that I could have. If you would’ve asked me in 2023, if it was possible for me to put myself out there for the world to see I probably would’ve laughed and I would’ve said no way. Blogging was a safe place for me. A place where I could just have an altar to Holy Spirit, where I can write and not have to face scrutiny. But I’m not done yet. Holy Spirit has a new task on my plates that I’m learning to navigate and not backing down.

So, what have I learned? I’ve learned that I need to leave the details up to Holy Spirit. I’ve learned to start each day with intentional prayer over what I want to accomplish that day. I’ve learned that organic is better than structured, I just need to be myself. I’ve learned that if it’s a spirit filled person that I’m wanting to interview allowing them time in prayer is the best for start. I’m not sure what rejection would feel like because everyone has said yes so far. I’ve learned that natural lighting is better than artificial. I’ve learned that you don’t have to have a separate space if you steward your home well.

Lastly, I’ve learned that support from my community is more powerful than anything I can do on my own. I cannot send more gratitude towards those individuals who hold me accountable, who show their support and who love like Jesus. This would not have been possible without Holy Spirit nudge and a community backing. Ask for me I am full of gratitude and the next commission is going to be the most exciting of my life. Nothing is more beautiful than knowing your Christ centered purpose and being able to walk it out. That is my wish to anyone who’s reading this right now, who listens to a podcast video un faithfully southern. I truly became a new creation when I said yes to Jesus and there’s no turning back.

My future commission is Christian Life Coaching. I have gotten my certification already, I’m working on a second one. I have a stack of leadership books on my desk that I can stare at every morning and yeah just God’s vision for what this is going to look like and my obedience stepping out in faith listening to everything that he has for me. And just one step in front of the other.

My prayer for this new mission, new commission, is that I can show more of him and less of me. That I can be a foundation starter for anyone who is looking to build a Christ centered life. I want to have discernment from the Father, simply listen and obey. I want to continue to create opportunities for kingdom work. And always rely on His Word every step of the way.

To wrap things up- Holy Spirit gave me a task, I told him to wait until I felt ready. I wasn’t swallowed up by a whale…. I was reminded again and took on the challenge! Faithfully Southern podcast was born. Next up, Christian Life Coaching. I’m ready to listen and obey. Putting God first in every thing that I do not letting one day go by without expressing my gratitude.

To be continued…..
